Russ Snyder-Penner

Russ Snyder-Penner  has years of experience advising businesses, not- for-profit organizations and individuals in a range of areas including:

  • Corporate organization (including professional corporations), shareholder agreements, charity applications and tax motivated corporate reorganizations)

  • Purchase and sale of businesses (share purchase and asset purchase transactions)

  • Professional practices (veterinarians, dentists and others)

  • Commercial and residential real estate transactions

  • Wills & succession planning (advising on generational transition for individuals and corporations)

Scott Sobering

Scott was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo and after attending Law School at the University of Western Ontario, he was pleased to return to the community in 2011 when he articled with a mid-size law firm in downtown Kitchener. After articling, Scott decided to launch a small practice before joining WayForth LLP in May of 2020. Scott is pleased to bring his own pragmatic approach to problem solving, in the service of his clients.

Scott has experience assisting clients with a range of legal issues including:

  • Separation/Divorce;

  • Collaborative Family Law;

  • Cohabitation Agreements/Marriage Contracts;

  • Residential Real Estate Transactions;

  • Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney; and

  • Guardianship Applications.

Work-life balance is very important to Scott. In his spare time, he likes to read, compete in a number of local slo-pitch events, and is always curious to try his hand at new skills. Examples include sail boat racing, experimenting with the guitar, and woodworking.

Melissa Veenstra

Melissa graduated from the University of Concordia with an Honours degree in Psychology and attended law school at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. She was raised in the Cambridge area and returned after law school to article in a mid-sized law firm in downtown Kitchener. During her studies Melissa discovered her affinity for studying relationship dynamics and problem resolution and decided to channel these interests into a practice that focuses mainly on family law and wills and estates. Melissa’s background in psychology frames her methodological approach to the law and the legal field in general. 

In her spare time Melissa enjoys listening to podcasts, staying active with friends and family, and trying anything with an adrenaline rush. She is a member of the Waterloo Region Law Association and FEMPOWR, a local woman’s group that focuses on connecting and empowering women in the legal field.

Keegan Miller

Keegan was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2020 after completing his articles of clerkship at a mid-sized firm in Toronto. He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of Guelph and obtained his law degree from Queen’s University. His areas of practice include corporate law, private company law, and residential real estate.

Outside of work, Keegan is an active member of the ultimate community, an amateur photographer, and an undistinguished home cook. He also doggedly follows current affairs, at home and abroad, through news publications, podcasts, and books.
